Job summary

Metric Geo in Denver seeks an experienced Substation Engineering Lead to manage multi-discipline teams delivering substation and switchyard projects across EPC and design services for utility clients.

You will oversee technical delivery across physical design, protection & control, civil/structural interfaces, major equipment, and coordination with vendors, RFIs, and design decisions, while mentoring engineers and supporting proposals and business development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of substation / power delivery engineering experience.
• Strong background delivering substation or switchyard projects for utility clients.
• Experience across EPC, design services, or full lifecycle substation project delivery.
• Knowledge of substation physical design, protection & control, civil/structural interfaces, major equipment, and utility standards.
• Previous experience leading engineers, coordinating multi-discipline teams, or acting as Lead Engineer / Project Engineering Manager.
• PE license strongly preferred.
• 75+ Years experience leading the power delivery industry.
• Top 10 in ENR for the power sector multiple years running.
