Job summary

Metric Geo is seeking an experienced Substation Engineer in the United States to lead multi-discipline teams delivering substation and switchyard projects across EPC and design services.

You will manage technical delivery, oversee scope, schedule, budget, and client expectations, and act as the technical lead on complex substation projects, coordinating with vendors and engineering reviews. PE license is preferred, with growth opportunities ahead.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of substation / power delivery engineering experience.
• Experience leading engineers, coordinating multi-discipline teams, or acting as Lead Engineer / Project Engineering Manager.
• PE license strongly preferred.

• Support proposals, estimates, client meetings, and business development for utility and power delivery clients.
• Mentor junior engineers and help develop the wider substation engineering team.

Qualifications required

• Strong background delivering substation or switchyard projects for utility clients.
• Experience across EPC, design services, or full lifecycle substation project delivery.
• Knowledge of substation physical design, protection & control, civil/structural interfaces, major equipment, and utility standards.
• Previous experience leading engineers, coordinating multi-discipline teams, or acting as Lead Engineer / Project Engineering Manager.
• PE license strongly preferred.
• 75+ Years experience leading the power delivery industry.
• Top 10 in ENR for the power sector multiple years running.
