Job Description Senior Electrical Engineer - White Plains, NY

Our client is a leading engineering design and commissioning company specializing in MEP critical facilities. This role involves acting as a senior electrical engineer, designing critical power systems for new and existing data centers. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing electrical systems specifically for large data centers, including electrical power systems, power distribution, generators, UPS, PDUs, and switchgear. Proficiency in AutoCAD MEP and Revit MEP for developing electrical models and documents is required. The role includes leading design efforts and coordinating with trades and stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage projects, create designs, gather specifications, and execute assignments in a multidisciplinary electrical engineering role for data center projects.
2. Develop conceptual designs based on client meetings.
3. Respond to RFPs, review shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs.
4. Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
5. Represent the company in project meetings.
6. Oversee full-cycle electrical design activities and collaborate with design staff.
7. Coordinate with project management to produce construction documents and lead construction administration.
8. Perform advanced electrical design tasks, including system development and equipment sizing.
9. Prepare drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
10. Review and prepare specifications and sequences of operations.
11. Assist in proposal development, resource forecasting, and project scope management.
12. Manage project design teams and coordinate resources.
13. Identify scope changes and develop strategies to manage costs and deadlines.
14. Build and maintain client relationships.
15. Survey existing conditions and prepare technical reports.
16. Develop and review construction documents and closeout reports.
17. Maintain project logs and progress reports.

Qualifications:

1. 8-15 years of experience, preferably with MEP or A/E firms.
2. Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
3. PE/EIT license is a plus.
4. Experience with data center and mission-critical electrical systems.
5. Knowledge of electrical codes and standards.
6. Proficiency with design software including Revit MEP, AutoCAD MEP, and analysis tools like SKM, ETAP.
7. Experience with UPS, generators, switchgear, and power distribution systems.
8. Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
9. Military or veteran experience with electrical/mechanical systems is a plus.
