Earlycareer and midlevel Project Engineers support engineering and construction projects across NYPA's diverse portfolio - from planning and design through construction, commissioning, and closeout. These engineers coordinate resources, maintain project documentation, support contractor and vendor collaboration, and help ensure work meets all safety, schedule, cost, and regulatory requirements. Opportunities span both utilityfocused and customerfocused projects across New York State.
Project Engineering at NYPA encompasses several types of work, offering exposure to construction engineering, transmission and substation projects, cleanenergy and renewable integration initiatives, customerfocused energy programs, facility modernization, and large capital/Propel projects. Project Engineers in this pool may contribute to major statewide initiatives - such as transmission line expansions, renewable energy connection projects, energy storage deployments, facility upgrades, and electrification efforts - offering significant opportunities for growth while supporting NYPA's cleanenergy mission.
This posting allows NYPA to accept applications yearround and match candidates to opportunities as they become available. Candidates are placed based on technical competencies, experience level, and interest areas. Roles at this level do not require a New York State PE license.

The New York Power Authority is committed to providing fair, competitive, and market-informed compensation. The estimated salary range for this position is: P2: $96,000 - $120,000. The salary offered will be determined based on the successful candidates' relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
