Job summary

SAIC in Hanahan, SC seeks a mid to senior level Engineering Technician to support fabrication, integration, maintenance, configuration, and testing of complex electromechanical and electrical systems. Qualifications

• AA Degree in related discipline; six (6) years or more of related experience; years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.
• Must have the ability to obtain SECRET clearance.
• Proficiency with electrical test and calibration equipment (DMMs, function generators, etc.).
• Ability to read and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings.
• Proficient soldering skills (through-hole and solder-cup connectors).
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word for documentation and wire lists.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble and test electrical circuits, sensors, and mechanical assemblies per schematics, drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Neatly route, terminate, and dress wire harnesses, cables, and wiring.
• Support design, checkout, modification, and assembly of electromechanical systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical system issues using standard test equipment (e.g., DMMs, oscilloscopes).
• Collect and analyze test data; perform calculations in accordance with engineering specifications.
• Prepare and update engineering documentation, including test reports, as‑built records, schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings.
• Collaborate closely with engineering and project management team; clearly communicate status, issues, and recommendations to team members and customers.
