Job summary

SAIC is seeking an Engineering Technician to perform inspections, upgrades, repair, and maintenance of electro-mechanical equipment in Indianapolis. The role involves mechanical assembly, testing, and documentation in a fast-paced shop environment.

The ideal candidate will have an AA degree or equivalent with hands-on assembly/testing experience, the ability to read engineering drawings, and experience with calipers and micrometers. Schedule is 40 hours, Monday–Friday, day shift.

Qualifications

• AA Degree in related discipline or equivalent with up to two years of assembly/testing experience.
• Experience with basic hand tools, and basic air-powered and battery powered tools.
• Must pass a basic background check to ensure No felony convictions, and no history of drug or alcohol abuse.
• Ability to lift 30 pounds, occasionally (once per day).
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings or technical manuals.
• Experience with measurement tools, including calipers and micrometers.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble equipment according to procedures and drawings.
• Evaluate, inspect, and clean sub-components; perform electrical and mechanical testing.
• Re-assemble equipment and prepare equipment for shipping in wood crates.
• Follow process documents and shop procedures; adapt as needed.
• Work Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week, 7am to 3:30pm; no weekends or overtime.
