Job summary

SAIC in Middletown, RI is seeking an Engineering Technician to support design, test, and fabrication of prototype electro-mechanical systems. You will work from schematics and plans to perform testing, checkout, and troubleshooting.

The role requires trade school or high school with 2 years related experience and security clearance ability; production cable building and wiring electronics experience; and familiarity with reading schematics/drawings.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain SECRET clearance.
• Production cable building experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions. Collects, maintains, organizes, compiles, and manipulates technical data.
• Prepares engineering documentation, reports, drawings (sketches/flow charts/diagrams/schematics, etc.).

• Supports engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro mechanical systems. Applications may include electronic circuits, photonics and logic systems.
• Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions.
• Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions. Collects, maintains, organizes, compiles, and manipulates technical data.
• Prepares engineering documentation, reports, drawings (sketches/flow charts/diagrams/schematics, etc.).
