Job summary

Thayer Power & Communication Line Construction Co., LLC (TPC) seeks a Senior Distribution Engineer to develop cost-effective designs for electric utility projects, upgrade and automate distribution systems, and ensure compliance with standards and safety codes.

You will perform field investigations, coordinate with customers, and lead design packages for complex projects in urban environments while traveling as needed. Strong technical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in electric distribution design engineering for utilities.
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or closely related field.
• PE license and PMP certification are preferred.
• Experience with distribution design tools and codes.

Responsibilities

• Develop design and construction work packages for overhead/underground systems.
• Review client requirements and ensure design quality and compliance.
• Perform engineering calculations for pole loading, guying, spans, voltage drop.
• Provide field and construction support and post-construction reviews.
• Lead root cause analyses of outages and mitigation strategies.
• Travel to project locations and coordinate with customers and utilities.
