Thayer Power & Communication Line Construction Co., LLC (TPC) is seeking a Senior Distribution Engineer to design and upgrade electrical distribution systems for utility clients, combining field investigations with cost-effective engineering solutions and compliance with safety codes.

You will perform calculations, develop work packages, review client requirements, and coordinate with field crews, traveling as needed across the U.S. to deliver reliable, safe distribution design.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of electric distribution design engineering experience with utilities.
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Experience with distribution design tools such as DDS, CYME, BOUD, Pole Foreman, Spida-Calc, O-Calc.
• Knowledge of NESC standards.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Valid US driver's license and willingness to travel.

Responsabilités

• Develop design and construction work packages for overhead and underground distribution systems.
• Review client work and assess scope requirements; interact with customers.
• Perform engineering calculations including pole loading, guying, conductor sag/tension, voltage drop.
• Provide engineering support during construction and post-construction reviews.
• Conduct root cause analysis of outages and mitigation.
• Occasionally perform field visits and coordinate with field crews.
• Develop large design packages for complex projects in dense urban environments; manage permits and ROW.
• Lead and train others and perform QA/QC responsibilities when needed.
