Job summary

Exelon is seeking a subject matter expert for the BGE electric distribution system to provide onsite engineering support across the BGE territory. You will mentor junior staff and drive studies, specifications, and performance evaluations for Exelon's utility infrastructure.

Responsibilities include leading design reviews, coordinating with contractors, validating calculations, and developing cost-benefit analyses. Extended hours may be required during storms or energy delivery emergencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or PE license.
• Ability to analyze and interpret complex electrical and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge and ability to apply problem solving approaches and engineering theory.
• Detailed knowledge of applicable standards, codes methods, and practices in area of expertise.
• 7+ years of professional engineering experience.
• Ability to apply advanced engineering principles to identify and resolve complex issues.

Responsibilities

• Leads and performs assignments in specialized areas requiring extensive engineering expertise, maintaining state-of-the-art credentials.
• Leads and performs tasks on complex projects requiring specialized knowledge across multiple areas; may include field testing and peer review.
• Evaluates complex technical issues and recommends actions or programs; may involve reviewing engineering design documents.
• Develops and leads projects with significant financial and operational impact; may create commissioning plans and documentation.
• Provides detailed training, mentorship, and guidance to others.
• Participates in department planning, field walkdowns, meetings, budget recommendations, and performance monitoring.
• May participate in technical societies or committees to stay abreast of new technologies.
