Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA in Foster City, CA seeks an Electrical Systems Diagnostics Engineer to ensure reliability of public vehicles. Based onsite with Bay Area travel, you’ll lead complex electrical troubleshooting and RCA efforts, translating findings into engineering improvements.

You will collaborate with design engineers and technicians, develop diagnostic procedures, mentor staff, and communicate results to stakeholders while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Requires 5+ years in automotive/robotics/aerospace or similar.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Proficient in CAN network analysis tools (Vector CANalyzer, CANoe, PCAN).
• Hands-on ability to read wiring diagrams and use oscilloscope/logic analyzers.
• Strong RCA knowledge: 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as highest-level escalation for complex electrical, electronic, and network issues.
• Lead RCA investigations and drive corrective actions across teams.
• Mentor technicians and translate engineering concepts for shop floor.
• Communicate RCA findings to engineering and leadership.
