Job summary

SUBURBAN CONSULTING ENGINEERS, INC. is seeking a Senior Designer (Electrical) for our Hackensack, NJ office.

The role involves leading electrical design tasks across water, wastewater, land development, parks, and gas utility projects, coordinating with clients and officials, and ensuring adherence to local and state regulations. Requirements include a Civil Engineering background, 3 years of experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD, REVIT, and electrical power systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering is required.
3 years’ experience is required.
PE License Track Preferred.

Responsibilities

Designs, analyzes, and interprets data and performs research and investigations.
Perform load calculations, circuit and conductor sizing calculations, protective device coordination studies, Arc Flash calculations.
Complete power distribution plan designs, single-line drawings, grounding plans, panel schedules, cable schedules, cable tray layouts, lighting plans, control narratives, control schematics, interconnect diagrams, heat trace drawings.
Develop equipment data sheets, bill of materials, submittal reviews and approvals.
Assign tasks to technical staff and review completed work.
Assist with scheduling and budgetary requirements, proposals, and project close outs.
Attend project meetings and present specific aspects of technical assignments.
