Job summary

Brown and Caldwell, Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Designer to join our environmental engineering team in Walnut Creek, CA. The role collaborates with electrical engineers to develop 2D/3D electrical and/or I&C designs for municipal, industrial, and federal projects.

The ideal candidate will have extensive Revit, AutoCAD, Plant3D and BIM experience, field data gathering skills, and the ability to mentor others while traveling to site locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or technical degree equivalent in electrical engineering technology or related field.
• Experience with electrical design for water/wastewater or industrial clients is preferred.
• Knowledge of NEC and P&ID development in CAD/BIM tools.

Responsibilities

• Execute electrical drawing development and equipment layout.
• Design cable trays, conduits, and associated lighting/devices circuits.
• Develop and coordinate 3D BIM models using Revit and AutoCAD Plant 3D.
• Mentor junior staff and assist with field data gathering on site.
• Coordinate with multi-discipline teams and ensure design gates meet standards.
• Manage schedules for electrical equipment and panel layouts.
• Travel for field data collection as needed.
