Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Electrical Designer/Technician/Engineer to join our Buildings Engineering team. You will contribute to electrical power and lighting design, with CAD and BIM tooling, under a Senior Engineer or Designer’s guidance.

You will prepare plans, perform calculations, and coordinate with architecture, civil, structural, ICT, and mechanical teams to deliver high‑quality drawings and specifications for healthcare or education projects.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or technical diploma/certificate in a related program, plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Strong knowledge of building electrical design, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm systems, device layouts, circuiting, panel schedules, load calculations, riser diagrams, and schedules.
• Proficiency in preparing and reviewing detailed drawings, with the ability to coordinate design elements across disciplines (architectural, civil, structural, ICT, and mechanical).
• Solid understanding of applicable codes and standards, with strong working knowledge of California Building Codes.
• Familiarity with CAD and BIM software, particularly AutoCAD and Revit.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of specialty engineering applications such as SKM Power Tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with evaluating, selecting, specifying, and designing electrical power and lighting systems.
• Perform AutoCAD and/or Revit design, calculations, and field work.
• Prepare electrical plans, drawings, details, and specifications to meet client standards.
• Coordinate design elements across architecture, civil, structural, ICT and mechanical teams.
