Job summary

LP Consulting Engineers, Inc. seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to design building electrical systems in a team environment. You will produce construction documents, analyze systems, and ensure code compliance.

Responsibilities include managing scope, budget and schedule, stamping plans, coordinating with utilities, and supporting LEED/CHPS energy efficiency goals. A PE path or license is required or pursued within one year.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience in engineering design of building electrical systems.
• 7-10 years experience preferred.
• Professional Engineering License or path to obtain within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Produce construction documents in conjunction with a team of engineers and designers.
• Help manage scope, budget and schedule to meet project goals.
• Analyze and design complex building systems, including medium/low voltage power, lighting, grounding, and process heating; standby generator and UPS; fire alarm and comms systems.
• May assist senior engineers in site selection and design basis activities.
• Exercise judgment in developing plans or alternatives and coordinate with teams to ensure quality plans.
• Perform field activities such as observation of construction activities.
• Review construction submittals for conformance with contract and design documents.
• Stamp and sign electrical plans; meet Title 24 and prepare related documentation.
• Coordinate with local utility companies; document energy efficiency measures for LEED/CHPS and Savings By Design.
• Ability to perform assessments of existing buildings.
