Job summary

BCP Engineers & Consultants in Charlotte, NC is seeking a mid to senior Electrical Designer. You will assist in planning, design and development of electrical construction drawings for diverse projects, under guidance from project managers and engineers.

Responsibilities include field verification, retrofit designs, as-built documentation, and providing complete electrical designs for power stations and petrochemical plants.

Qualifications

• Must have 7+ years of experience as an Electrical Designer.
• Proficient PC and general office software.
• Strong communication skills (oral and written).
• Good judgment and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Location:

Hybrid (remote 75%, onsite 25%); Candidates can work in Charlotte, NC; Stonington, CT;

Estimated Duration of Work Assignment

12 months (potential to extend)

Hours:

Standard work week 40 hrs, project may require 10-20 hours OT as needed

Job Description/Responsibilities:

Mid to Senior Electrical Designers. Under direction/guidance from project managers, project engineers, or technical services staff, assist in the planning, design and development of electrical construction drawings for various projects. Research to obtain detailed project and design criteria. Provide field support including field verification for retrofit applications, as-built documentation. Provide complete electrical designs for power stations and various industrial plants (Oil & Gas and Petrochemicals).

Experience/Educational Requirements:

Required – Qualifications:

• Must be proficient in operating a PC based computer and general office software.
• Must have 7+ years of experience working as an Electrical Designer.
• Complex Problem Solving.
• Good Communication Skills (Active Listening, Verbal and Written).

• Attention to Detail.
• Strong desire to learn.

Preferred – Qualifications:

• Vocational or Trade School Education.
• Related on-the-job experience.
• HS or Associate's degree with adequate drafting courses.

Physical Requirements:

Will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, use of arm/hand steadiness, manual dexterity, finger dexterity, multi limb coordination, oral expression, and comprehension. May be required to lift, carry, and move objects safely. Must be able to pass a background and drug screening. Will work in a general office environment. Capable of operating and functioning in a fast-paced work environment. Must possess a vision (corrected or uncorrected) that allows for clear visibility from a distance of 20 inches or less.
