Job summary

Obsidian seeks experienced Electrical Design Specialists to tackle a short-term project. You will analyze and solve complex electrical design and system-level problems across diverse applications, including industrial facilities and data centers.

You will apply hands-on expertise in load flow, short-circuit analysis, and protection coordination while reviewing schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment specs to ensure robust, compliant designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Hands-on experience analyzing electrical designs and system-level problems.
• Strong knowledge of power systems, protection, and equipment sizing.
• Experience with industrial facilities, data centers, renewables, or energy storage is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, analyze, and evaluate electrical designs based on requirements and system performance.
• Design and review electrical systems, including distribution, power, control panels and switchgear.
• Interpret schematics, diagrams, layouts, and equipment specifications.
• Perform load flow, voltage drop, short-circuit analysis, and protection sizing.
• Evaluate design options, identify issues, and validate against standards.
• Review vendor drawings and submittals to ensure compliance.
