Job summary

Salas O’Brien is seeking an experienced electrical designer for Charlotte, NC, to produce construction drawings and specs for diverse project types. You will work on power, lighting, fire alarm, and system diagrams, collaborating across disciplines and leading design efforts.

The role requires a minimum of 10 years in electrical design, proficiency with NEC and energy codes, and ability to travel for projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in electrical design including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, systems, and grounding plans.
• Experience in Federal/Municipal Government, Healthcare and/or Aviation is preferred but not required.
• Proficiency with National Electrical Code, Building Codes, and Energy Codes.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the design effort on large and small projects.
• Coordinate with engineering and other disciplines on the project team.
• Provide calculations including lighting, voltage drop, and load calculations.
• Lead discipline design.
• Follow company standards in creation of electrical drawings.
• Provide field support including verifications for retrofit projects and as-built documentation.
