Cates Control Systems, Inc. in Plano, TX seeks a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead complex power and control system projects from concept through fabrication.

You will design, review, and optimize electrical schemes, mentor engineers, and drive adherence to NFPA 70/NEC, UL508A, IEC standards, while collaborating with customers and manufacturing teams. This full-time, in-office role requires 10+ years of experience, a bachelor’s in electrical engineering, and proficiency with AutoCAD

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical design of power and control systems.
• Extensive knowledge of NFPA 70, UL508A, and IEC standards.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent electrical training required.

Responsibilities

• Check and review designs as required.
• Assist in maintaining Quality Assurance System.
• Interface with customers, colleagues and manufacturing to resolve issues.
• Perform detailed Electrical / Mechanical designs for advanced projects.
• Train and mentor junior electrical design engineers on design techniques and best practices.
