Job summary

STV’s New York, NY office is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineering Specialist with 10 years’ experience for our Buildings Division in a hybrid setting. The successful candidate will lead electrical design for facilities projects, developing proposals and budgets and guiding a team of engineers.

Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD is preferred, along with experience performing power studies and coordinating with architectural, mechanical, civil, and structural disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required.
• 10 years of relevant experience as an electrical engineer.
• PE is preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IBC, Life Safety Code.
• Ability to develop design documents and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design using Revit and AutoCAD for electrical power, lighting, and fire alarm systems.
• Design MV (15kV) & LV (480V/208V/120V) electrical power distribution systems.
• Perform power studies: short circuit, OCPDs coordination, and arc-flash hazard analysis using SKM.
• Prepare engineering documents and equipment specifications to meet contracted scope of work.
• Provide construction observation, inspection, and field support (RFIs, submittals).
• Mentor electrical engineers on projects and assist other staff.
• Develop cost estimates, project plans, and schedules.
• Coordinate with architectural, mechanical, civil, and structural teams.
• Support business development with technical input for proposals.
