Job summary

UEC Electronics, LLC seeks a Lead Electrical Design Engineer in Hanahan, SC to drive battery systems and power electronics from concept through production. You will own architecture, select components, and supervise prototype validation, with hands‑on troubleshooting and direct mentorship of engineers.

You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to meet demanding military and industrial requirements, ensuring robust, manufacturable designs and compliance with specs and schedules.

Qualifications

• Must have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 10+ years hands‑on electronic hardware design, including PCB work.
• Proven track record leading hardware development from concept to production.
• Strong analog/digital/mixed‑signal and power electronics foundation.
• Experience reviewing multi‑layer PCBs for SI/EMI and thermal performance.
• Proficiency with CAD tools: Altium, OrCAD, PSpice, LTspice.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead for electrical hardware across BMS, power electronics, and control electronics.
• Own system architecture, requirements, circuit design, simulations, and hardware implementation.
• Lead design reviews and tradeoff discussions on performance, reliability, safety, cost, and manufacturability.
• Design and review analog, digital, and mixed‑signal circuits, including power supplies and sensing.
• Oversee PCB layout, grounding, isolation, thermal, EMI/EMC, and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with embedded software for hardware/software integration.
• Lead hardware bring‑up, testing, verification plans, and failure investigations.
• Mentor engineers, drive standards, and improve design practices.
