AMG, Inc. in Dayton, Ohio is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer with a PE license to lead the Electrical & Instrumentation Department. You will mentor designers and collaborate with engineers, project managers and staff to develop electrical designs and drawings for large industrial facilities and process plants.

This role offers a leadership path as the current department lead approaches retirement. Candidates must live in the Dayton area and be willing to commute to the office.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of the NEC.
• Experience with medium/low voltage distribution, MCCs, cable sizing, VFDs, transformers, switchgear, and lighting design.
• Familiarity with single-line diagrams and P&IDs.
• At least 5 years of electrical design or drafting in industrial processing environments.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT.
• Experience with ETAP, SKM or EasyPower and arc flash studies.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Ability to obtain multi-state licensure.
• Must reside in the greater Dayton area.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for industrial environments including MV/LV power distribution, controls, transformers and lighting.
• Develop single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, cable schedules, and layout drawings.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure project success.
• Participate in field work and construction support, including site visits and verifications.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide on-the-job training.
