Spang Engineered Solutions, a division of Spang & Company, seeks a Senior Electrical Design Engineer in Pittsburgh, PA. The role focuses on inductors and related magnetic devices, with responsibilities spanning design support, software tooling, RFQs, prints, and cross‑border production collaboration.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Physics and 5–10 years of transformer/inductor design experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics.
• 5–10 years of experience in transformer/inductor design.
• Exposure to electrical component manufacturing and testing.
• Desirable: Power Distribution Systems, Control Systems, Failure Analysis, Electrical Product Design, or NEC.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer inquiries for design support and determine the best approach.
• Maintain and improve inductor design software and develop new design tools.
• Prepare internal RFQs and review/mark up part prints.
• Support production teams in US/China by answering questions.
• Learn SES electrical test equipment.
• Assist sourcing of materials with purchasing and production teams.
• New Product Transfer: develop procedures, checklists, and test specs; train personnel.
• Travel up to 25% to SES locations or customer meetings.
