Job summary

The Electrical Engineer at Jacobs is responsible for coordinating, developing, and producing deliverables for electrical design within the Federal Buildings Unit. You will lead design efforts as part of a multidisciplinary team and ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness, with hybrid work and in-office collaboration two days per week.

Requirements include a BSEE, PE license, 5+ years of experience, proficiency in REVIT, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) and at least 5 years of electrical design experience.
  • Professional Registration (PE)
  • Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas clearly, both in person and in writing.
  • Overseas & US based travel may be required
  • Proficiency in REVIT

Responsibilities

  • Work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines, while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Act as the Designer of Record (DOR) for electrical design projects including schedule, budget, delegation of work to junior staff, quality control and sealing/stamping construction drawings and specifications.
  • Gather information, interview stakeholders, make studies, perform calculations, and prepare original rough layouts and sketches as required
  • Present findings and outcomes to clients and other stakeholders
  • Perform high level tasks under minimal supervision using well-defined standards, procedures and codes
  • Perform product research; assist project designers and project architects with materials selection and system research
  • Design and perform calculations for lighting systems and associated controls
  • Prepare load analysis for different stages of design; Prepare and document Energy compliance calculations and forms
  • Perform construction administration and field investigation tasks for assigned projects including document management and processing RFI's and Change Orders
