Job summary

Starlink is seeking a Sr. Electrical Design Engineer for Gateways & Customer Hardware to own the development of mass-produced customer-facing devices (dishes, user terminals, gateways).

You will work with silicon, software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to bring hardware from concept to production, ensuring reliability for millions of users globally. The role requires 5+ years' experience in electrical design and a strong mix of FPGA, processors, and analog/digital electronics, with

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or other engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of professional experience designing circuits, electronic products, or hardware.
• Master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or similar engineering degree.
• 8+ years of professional experience rapidly designing and delivering highly reliable products.
• 8+ years of electronic product experience designing hardware from concept through production; full life cycle development.
• 8+ years of experience designing and implementing mixed-signal circuit boards from concept through production.
• 8+ years of experience with processors, FPGAs, Ethernet, SerDes, DDR4, I2C, SPI, op-amps, and power supplies.
• 8+ years of experience testing, troubleshooting, and debugging electronics.
• Strong knowledge of Python and C/C++.
• Ability to work in a highly cross-functional role.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test highly reliable electronics for communicating with satellites.
• Collaborate with software, mechanical, thermal, manufacturing, and production test teams.
• Lead system trades, requirements capture, component selection, analysis, schematic capture, PCB layout, prototyping, hardware bring-up, debugging, documentation, manufacturing, and test.
