Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a licensed Electrical Design Engineer with strong project management to lead federal infrastructure, water/wastewater and industrial projects in a hybrid role across California offices including Irvine.

As Senior Electrical Design Engineer 6, you will develop complex electrical designs, review compliance, perform power system studies, mentor staff and collaborate with clients and sales to win proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline; PE license required.
• 10+ years of related electrical engineering experience.
• Willingness to travel domestically or internationally.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review electrical designs for federal infrastructure, water/wastewater, and industrial projects.
• Lead project management and coordinate with clients and teams.
• Perform power system studies and calculations using ETAP/SKM.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and firm standards.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to the knowledge base.
