Job summary

Nordson EFD, a global leader in engineered fluid dispensing, seeks a Senior Electrical Design Engineer in East Providence, RI to design, develop and debug electrical hardware for electro-mechanical systems enabling precision manufacturing. You’ll work on hardware-software integration and contribute to smart, connected products.

The role requires leadership in mixed-signal design, SBC/SOM-based architectures, and a strong collaboration with firmware teams.

Qualifications

• Experience launching electro-mechanical products with embedded systems and real time control.
• Designs for actuators, digital communications, EMC/safety compliance, and sensor data acquisition.
• Knowledge of microcontrollers, FPGA’s, SBCs or SOMs and system-level design.
• Experience with schematic capture, BOM creation, PCB layouts in CAD tools.
• Firmware familiarity and collaboration with global teams are essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of mixed signal circuits and power conversion for embedded controllers.
• Develop system architecture using SBCs/SOMs and custom boards.
• Collaborate with firmware engineers using Python, C, C++, HDL, and assembly.
• Create design verification plans, supervise tests, analyze results, and support safety and EMI certification.
• Participate in technology evaluations, VOC exercises, benchmarking and production launches.
