Our client, a renowned architectural and engineering consulting firm is seeking a high-performing Senior Electrical Design Engineering Manager to drive significant impact through technical excellence and project leadership. The individual will assist in the design of electrical engineering systems for a variety of buildings and facilities and lead.
Responsibilities:
Provide electrical design and consulting services, and construction administration support.
Design electrical service and distribution systems, including backup power.
Familiarity with lighting design.
Experience designing full building fire alarm systems.
Provide services through surveys, cost estimates, bid reviews, witness shop testing, and inspections.
Work on projects from start to finish, from initial creation of scope of work to punch-list documentation for construction close-out.
Candidate should be self-motivated and focused on providing the best value for clients.
Candidate can expect to participate in field visits and construction inspections through the life of a project.
Qualifications:
BS in EE .PE licensure (registration in good standing as a Professional Engineer or an Engineer-In-Training (or eligibility to be registered).
Minimum of eight years of electrical design experience and a strong desire to continue to learn electrical design of systems.
Technical knowledge of the codes and standards (i.e. IBC, NEC, IECC, NFPA, IES) related to electrical design.
Experience with electrical load estimation, short circuit, coordination and load flow studies, lighting calculations and back-up generator sizing.
Perform electrical energy conservation analysis as required by applicable energy codes.
Proficiency in the application of specialized engineering software, particularly AutoCAD and ARCGIS, as well as other related software.
Knowledge of AutoCAD should include layers, blocks, external referencing, paper/model space, and annotative dimensioning and annotation.
Candidate should have experience preparing bid specifications.
Construction industry experience would be beneficial but is not required.
A valid drivers license and dependable transportation is required.
