Position: Electrical Engineer – Remote

Overview:

A client of Plan B Climatech's are seeking a versatile Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team, contributing to the design and implementation of electrical systems for mission-critical facilities, including data centers across various sectors. This role involves engaging in pre-sales activities, strategic planning, design coordination, and client communication to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct site assessments to evaluate existing conditions and client requirements, informing project strategies and design scopes.
• Support pre-sales efforts by developing proposals and presentations for clients and partners.
• Design electrical power systems, including:
• Onsite power generation distribution (e.g., natural gas-powered facilities).
• One-line diagrams for site, building, and campus-level deployments.
• Systems incorporating emergency generators, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), lighting, AC/DC power systems, and grounding.
• Perform power load calculations and capacity planning.
• Specify electrical equipment such as transformers, UPS, switchgear, distribution panels, automatic transfer switches, and emergency generators.
• Prepare construction documents and specifications.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, fire protection, and telecommunications disciplines.
• Maintain proactive documentation and communication with clients and partners to ensure project success.
• Develop detailed scope of work documents for subcontractors involved in project construction.
• Identify potential project issues proactively and develop solutions independently.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Professional Engineering (PE) licensure preferred.
• Experience in designing data center electrical systems, including UPS, generators, and critical power distribution.
• Knowledge of data center, mission-critical, and/or electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience working in a virtual environment.
• Fluency in English.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Commitment to continuous learning and adaptability to new technologies.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit is preferred

Location & Travel:
