Senior Electrical Engineer – New York City (Hybrid)

Plan B Climatech is working with a respected New York City engineering organization to secure an accomplished Senior Electrical Engineer who can strengthen project delivery, guide multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to a growing portfolio of complex, high‑impact work.

This opportunity is designed for an engineering professional ready to take ownership of project outcomes while enjoying the balance of a hybrid schedule based in NYC.

The Opportunity

This position suits someone who excels at leading electrical engineering efforts from early planning through final execution, consistently upholding rigorous technical standards. The role offers two days per week in the Manhattan office, with the remainder remote, plus periodic travel for site reviews and key client meetings.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership – Oversee major electrical engineering projects from design through completion, ensuring milestones, schedules, and expectations remain aligned.

Stakeholder Coordination – Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and partners, maintaining clarity and responsiveness throughout the project timeline.

Technical Direction – Guide teams in resolving design challenges, ensuring compliance, innovation, and integration of best practices.

Team Development – Provide coaching and support to junior and mid‑level engineers to encourage technical growth and strong project performance.

Quality Oversight – Review drawings, reports, and calculations for precision, code compliance, and adherence to client standards.

Hands‑On Support – Assist in producing technical documents and drawings during peak workloads.

Professional Involvement – Promote continuous learning and engagement with industry organizations and certifications.

Ideal Profile

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

8+ years of experience in MEP design

PE license strongly preferred

Proficiency in electrical design platforms (Revit preferred)

Strong communication, coordination, and organizational abilities

Ability to operate confidently across office environments and active project sites

This New York–based hybrid role involves routine computer‑based work, field inspections, and interaction with construction environments.
