Head Engineering Consultant - Mission Critical Engineering & Design

Company Overview:

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Design mechanical structures, supports, BUS work, electrical controls, metering, and communications to meet customer requirements.
  2. Create parts lists, metal drawings, BUS drawings, assembly drawings, BOM, and Operation & Maintenance Manual efficiently and on time.
  3. Maintain detailed and organized documentation, follow and improve standard design processes and best practices.
  4. Coordinate with vendors to ensure manufacturability, compliance with client specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  5. Design low voltage & medium voltage electrical switchgear assemblies/systems, replacement breakers, and related equipment.
  6. Implement changes and corrections in mechanical/electrical designs throughout the product lifecycle.
  7. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to ensure functionality, manufacturability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  8. Support departments such as project management, production, and sales.
  9. Prepare engineering reports and submittals addressing technical project needs.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in designing electrical switchgear and UL891 standards; familiarity with UL1558 and MV Metal Clad is a plus.
  • P.E. license in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in a similar industry.
  • Over 5 years of design experience in electromechanical, circuit, and electrical design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D), AutoCAD Mechanical, or Autodesk Inventor (3D).
  • PE license preferred or demonstrated ability to acquire one.
