We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Design Engineer to work closely with the Discipline Director of Electrical Engineering. The ideal candidate will bring a solid background in electrical engineering along with proven expertise in design principles, methodologies, and best practices. This role involves collaboration across multidisciplinary teams throughout all phases of the design process and requires the ability to produce accurate, high-quality documentation with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead project kickoffs, manage progress, and ensure successful delivery of electrical design services, particularly within the Federal market sector
• Design and develop electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems across various building types
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients to align technical solutions with project goals and regulatory standards
• Perform electrical assessments such as load calculations, short circuit analysis, and system reliability evaluations
• Review and approve designs, specifications, and construction documents for quality and compliance
• Conduct field inspections and site visits to validate existing conditions and ensure adherence to project requirements
• Identify and resolve complex design challenges with innovative, cost-effective solutions
• Support Quality Control reviews and ensure design consistency across Federal projects
• Manage construction administration tasks, including attending site visits, reviewing submittals, and responding to RFIs
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance design effectiveness
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development
• Flexibility to work extended hours when needed to meet project timelines and business needs

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• 8–10 years of relevant experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred
• Experience with federal and/or healthcare design projects highly desirable
• Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including NFPA, FBC, UFC, NEC, and IEEE
• Proficient in design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, and electrical system analysis software
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Suite
