Regal Rexnord's Portescap division seeks a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to drive the design of small DC brushless motors from concept to production. You will lead electromagnetic design efforts and coordinate with customers, manufacturing, and sourcing teams.

The role requires deep experience in electric machine design, schematics, testing, and applying customer requirements to robust designs. Occasional travel up to 5% is expected in a fast-paced, global engineering environment.

The group focuses primarily on the design of small DC brushless motors. The Motor Design Engineer is a key member of the R&D team within Portescap and will have broad technical and leadership responsibilities. They should have extensive experience with electric motor design and be looking to both learn and to bring new knowledge and experience to our engineering team. **The primary responsibility in this role is the development of custom electromagnetic designs for miniature motor systems**. Responsibilities also include sustaining engineering support for our customers and for the manufacturing team, as well as innovation to enable technology breakthroughs that extend our ability to serve our customer’s unmet needs. Other opportunities include working globally on joint projects with our Indian and Swiss R&D teams. Electrical Engineering or equivalent required; advanced degree preferred* 5 or more years of experience in design and manufacturing environment is required* 5 or more years of experience in electric machine design is required* Experience with DC or AC motors including control, testing, specifications and applications is required* Experience with a finite element and/or parameterized motor design software is required* Experience incorporating customer requirements into technical proposals / designs is preferred* Ability to read and create electrical schematics and readily use component data sheets is required* Hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical test equipment such as signal generators, DVM, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, tension/torsion testers, thermal chambers and vibration monitoring is required* Experience troubleshooting electronics or electrical assemblies is required* Experience with Magtrol motor test equipment or similar dynamometer systems is preferred* Experience working directly with customers or external OEMs is preferred**Physical Demand and Work Environment:** This section needs to be included *only if* the physical demands are outside the norm.
