Job summary

Corning Inc. seeks a Sr. Electrical Controls Engineer to support electrical discipline during construction, installation, debug, and startup of equipment and automated systems across domestic and international sites.

The role involves hands-on floor work, leading technicians, and coordinating with contractors on installation, testing, and commissioning. You will work on controls for 480VAC systems, develop process understanding, and ensure safe, efficient operation on projects with tight

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Controls Engineering or related field.
• 2–7 years manufacturing experience.
• Experience on manufacturing floor or construction site with safety focus.
• Knowledge of 480VAC power systems.
• Hands-on with equipment using typical tools and instruments.
• Translate engineering solutions to requirements and read electrical drawings for troubleshooting.
• Able to manage multiple work streams with a proactive safety approach.

Responsibilities

• Develop and use project plans and timelines to achieve project goals without sacrificing safety, IP, or quality.
• Ensure project team safety training and compliance; identify safety issues and report incidents.
• Understand process and equipment functions in area of responsibility.
• Analyze and improve installation practices to boost schedules.
• Interface with external integrators to deliver fully integrated equipment on time and on budget.
• Understand setup of machine controls for analog/digital I/O, control sequences, fail-safe states.
