Job summary

Corning Incorporated in Wilmington, NC is seeking an Electrical Engineer for the Fiber Capital Programs within AMT. You will provide electrical discipline support for manufacturing equipment at domestic and international sites, interfacing with system integrators and machine builders.

The role emphasizes installation, startup, troubleshooting, and development of integrated control systems for new equipment.

Qualifications

• Associate of Applied Science or bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing equipment or manufacturing engineering.
• Familiarity with industrial control systems including analog/digital I/O, control sequence logic, and failsafe state definitions.
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally; travel may be full-time during active equipment deployment phases.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical discipline support in the construction, testing, installation, and debug of manufacturing equipment systems at domestic and international sites.
• Interface with external system integrators and machine builders to deliver fully integrated process equipment on time, on budget, and to defined performance standards.
• Develop and execute detailed equipment installation plans; supervise contract trades groups during installation phases.
• Lead troubleshooting for equipment and process issues during installation and startup; identify root causes and implement long-term corrective actions.
• Support development of integrated industrial control systems for new manufacturing equipment and modifications to existing equipment.
