Job summary

Signode is hiring a Senior Electrical Controls Engineer to design, program, test and document automation equipment, including strapping, case handling, packing and robotics. You will lead a small team and coach junior engineers on Allen-Bradley hardware and standard architectures.

The role requires 7+ years in control system design for capital equipment, strong AB/ Rockwell PLC programming, AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN experience, and travel 10–20% as needed.

Qualifications

• B.S. or MS in electrical eng/automation/compsci or related field; assoc degree possible with experience.
• 7+ years designing control systems for capital equipment; capable of robotics from scratch.
• Experience with AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN; AB/Omron PLCs with HMI and servo systems.

Responsibilities

• Review customer requirements and propose controls design.
• Design and test electrical, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical systems.
• Program PLCs, HMIs, and robots to meet product requirements.
• Create schematics in AutoCAD/EPLAN; prepare BOMs and drawings.
• Lead projects and coach junior engineers; ensure safety and reliability.
