Job summary

Fisk Electric Co. in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Safety Manager to lead the health and safety program for the California Division. The role reports to the California General Manager and Corporate Safety Director, overseeing onboarding, training, audits, and compliance across all projects.

You will manage PPE, electrical safety programs, incident investigations, and return-to-work processes. Strong communication and project management are essential to ensure safety excellence on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a safety related major, construction management, engineering or similar.
• 10 years of progressive safety experience in construction with emphasis on commercial and industrial electrical safety.
• OSHA-500 certification is required.
• CHST certification or equivalent is preferred.
• Knowledge of NFPA-70E electrical safety standards and related mitigation.
• Strong communication, project management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide onboarding and safety orientation for new employees.
• Create training certifications and maintain electronic safety training files.
• Monitor safety performance across all jobsites within the Division’s area.
• Conduct workplace safety audits and correct issues or deficiencies.
• Lead weekly toolbox safety meetings and stand downs as needed.
• Purchase and maintain safety PPE and equipment stock.
• Manage electrical PPE program per company policy and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
• Assist project managers with development and execution of site safety plans.
• Review accident procedures and apply the company’s reporting policy.
• Coordinate with physicians for injury case management and return-to-work programs.
• Investigate incidents and file reports; participate in post-incident reviews.
• Facilitate drug testing as needed and maintain OSHA 300 log records.
• Provide extensive in-person safety training across topics like confined spaces, electrical safety, fall protection, etc.
• Work with other department managers and monitor fleet safety performance.
• Support background checks where required and participate in monthly safety meetings.
