Job summary

NV5, Inc. in Arlington, VA is seeking a Senior-Level Electrical Engineer to lead and support a broad range of building and infrastructure commissioning projects.

The role emphasizes hands-on electrical systems commissioning, operation, and construction oversight across diverse facilities. Ideal candidates have 8+ years in electrical commissioning, strong project management, and knowledge of building codes and NFPA standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• PE license preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical systems commissioning and energy services.
• Deep understanding of building codes, NFPA standards, and industry best practices.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain government security clearance.
• LEED Accredited Professional and/or CxA certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning efforts for electrical systems across varied project types.
• Oversee functional performance testing, observations, and diagnostics.
• Manage and deliver electrical engineering and energy consulting services.
• Serve as technical authority and project manager on multiple projects.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to resolve issues.
• Support business development through client engagement and proposals.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing.
• Up to 50% travel may be required for project execution and training.
• Maintain communication with clients and project team members.
