Job summary

FST Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Commissioning Engineer to lead from the field on data center construction projects.

You will oversee commissioning activities, perform functional and factory witness testing, and ensure systems perform under real-world conditions. This role requires 7+ years in electrical systems or 3+ years commissioning, data center experience, and strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering degree or Qualified Electrician background.
• 7+ years in electrical systems OR 3+ years commissioning.
• Data center or mission-critical experience.
• Experience with electrical distribution, HVAC systems, controls, fire alarm, and automation.
• Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to lead meetings and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning activities across the full project lifecycle.
• Execute and oversee functional testing, factory witness testing, and on-site validation.
• Manage multiple assignments while maintaining schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
• Interpret contract documents to identify risks and opportunities.
• Evaluate electrical distribution systems and building system interconnectivity.
• Troubleshoot system performance issues in real time.
• Review design documentation and submittals.
• Lead commissioning meetings and communicate findings.
• Serve as a trusted partner to clients and contractors.
• Complete field reports, documentation, and time management.
• Support scheduling and revenue targets.
• Mentor junior engineers and support training initiatives.

  What You Bring

  Core Qualifications

  Preferred
