Job summary

FST Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Lead Senior Electrical Commissioning Engineer to drive commissioning outcomes for data center projects. You will lead from the front, oversee testing, and manage multiple assignments across the project lifecycle.

You will evaluate electrical distribution, read drawings, and mentor junior engineers, while engaging clients and contractors to achieve on-time delivery and operational readiness. Travel to sites is required.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering degree or Qualified Electrician background.
• 7+ years in electrical systems OR 3+ years commissioning.
• Data center or mission-critical experience.
• Experience with electrical distribution, HVAC systems, controls, fire alarm, and automation.
• Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to lead meetings and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning activities across the full project lifecycle.
• Execute and oversee functional testing, factory witness testing, and on-site validation.
• Manage multiple assignments while maintaining schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
• Interpret contract documents to identify risks and opportunities.
• Evaluate electrical distribution systems and building system interconnectivity.
• Troubleshoot system performance issues in real time.
• Review design documentation and submittals.
• Lead commissioning meetings and communicate findings.

What You Bring

Core Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering degree or Qualified Electrician background
• 7+ years in electrical systems OR 3+ years commissioning
• Data center or mission-critical experience

Technical Capabilities

• Experience with electrical distribution, HVAC systems, controls, fire alarm, and automation
• Ability to read construction drawings and specifications

Professional Skills

• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Ability to lead meetings and manage multiple priorities

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in field environments, climb ladders, and lift ~30 lbs

Preferred

• EIT, CEM, LEED, OSHA 30, BIM experience

Travel Requirements

Regular travel to project sites with potential for broader U.S. travel. Must be able to work on-site asrequired.

Salary range: $150,000-$180,000 - based on experience
