Job summary

Powell Industries in Houston is seeking a Senior Electrical Assembler to perform tasks in power control rooms, including bending, running, installing, and terminating electrical conduit. Required are a high school diploma or GED with 5+ years of manufacturing experience, ability to read drawings, and knowledge of electrical systems and NEC codes.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED plus 5+ years of relevant manufacturing experience, or equivalent combination.
• Must have a basic command of the English language, both written and verbal.
• Experience installing cable tray.
• Experience installing wire way.
• Ability to crimp and terminate wires.
• Ability to read drawings or blueprints.
• Working knowledge of electricity, circuits, and components (panel boards, transformers, disconnects, terminal blocks, relays, etc).
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, layout drawings.
• Working knowledge of NEC Code sections.

Responsibilities

• Install electrical devices (disconnects, lights, panel boards, transformers, battery chargers, lighting contactors, VFDs).
• Bend, run, and install conduit (EMT and Rigid).
• Install wireway and cable tray.
• Pull wire and large cable.
• Cut, strip, crimp, and terminate wires.
• Follow standard work/process instructions (NEC).
• Adhere to safety policies and manufacturing policies.
• Ensure quality and identify risks to product quality.
• Keep work areas clean and organized.
