Powell Houston-Canton is seeking a Control Systems Wire Harness Technician to transform drawings into dependable assemblies in our Electrical Assembly department. You will collaborate with electricians and fellow technicians to deliver safe, reliable results that meet industry standards.

Work schedule: Four 10-hour days, Monday–Thursday, 2:30pm–1:00am. You will map layouts on panels, route and terminate wiring, install CTs, nameplates, and space heaters, and verify circuits with continuity

  • Use continuity testers to verify circuits and document results.
  • Perform in-process inspections for compliance and workmanship quality.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and participate in safety meetings.

As a Control Systems Wire Harness Technician, you’ll be the craftsperson who transforms drawings into dependable assemblies inside our Electrical Assembly department. You’ll partner with electricians and fellow technicians to deliver safe, reliable results that meet industry standards. Work schedule: Four 10-hour days, Monday–Thursday, 2:30pm–1:00am.

You open a fresh panel, map the layout on the door and back pan, drill and tap precisely, and begin routing wire bundles so clean they set the standard. You install nameplates and space heaters, terminate CTs, and validate every circuit with continuity checks—documenting results and performing in-process inspections along the way. Your core impact

Baseline qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to read point-to-point wiring diagrams
  • Able to read and work from a tape measure
  • English proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking
  • Safe operation of hand and power tools
  • Lift up to 50 lbs with proper lifting techniques
Preferred background
  • Basic computer literacy (a plus)
  • Knowledge of calibration practices
  • Ability to interpret spec sheets and master copy drawings

Environment you’ll be in
  • Safety-sensitive role in a temperature-controlled manufacturing/industrial facility with occasional outdoor work
  • PPE required at all times (hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, harness as applicable); respirators when necessary
  • Work from step, A-frame, and extension ladders, and scaffolding
  • Tasks at heights typically up to 30 feet with proper lift equipment
Physical demands
  • Maintain balance and agility to prevent falls while walking, standing, crouching, and climbing/descending stairs
  • Repetitive bending at the waist and knees with frequent extension of arms and hands
  • Long periods of standing and walking 50–300 feet with occasional sitting
  • Frequent stair climbing throughout the shift
  • Regular work with both arms above shoulders and fully extended
  • Continuous use of upper extremities to apply up to 50 lbs of force
  • Frequent, extended use of tin snips, hammers, and power tools (some with vibration)
