Job summary

Coperion in Whitewater, WI is seeking a Sr. Electrical Assembler to diagnose, repair, and rebuild electronics for customer requirements. First shift, Mon-Thu 6 am–3 pm, Fri 6 am–Noon, in a clean 5S production environment.

The role combines hands-on assembly and sub‑system integration with leadership responsibilities, mentoring junior assemblers and training on new processes. Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

  • Technical degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 3–5+ years in electrical assembly; 2+ years in a supervisory role.
  • Proficient with hand/power tools, soldering irons, crimps, testing equipment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Assembly & Testing: wiring, component installation, soldering, and cable harnessing per schematics.
  • Systems Integration: integrate sub-assemblies into final hardware and assemble systems.
  • Electrical Testing: perform basic electrical tests per quality standards.
  • Rework & Refurbishment: perform complex rework per specifications.
  • Quality Control: inspections per quality specs and safety standards.
  • Leadership & Training: act as technical lead for large projects, mentor assemblers, train on new processes.
  • Collaboration: work with engineering, quality, and project management to meet timelines.
  • Documentation & Compliance: maintain production logs and ensure ISO and electrical standards.

Job description

Shift 1 (United States of America)

Coperion is currently seeking an Sr. Electrical Assembler to support our location in Whitewater, WI. The Electrical Assembler will support Operations by diagnosing, repairing, and rebuilding electronics to support customer requirements. We have a 5S environment, very clean production floor and great people to work with!

Schedule

1st shift Monday-Thursday 6 am – 3 pm & Friday 6 am - Noon

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Assembly & Testing: Perform wiring, component installation, hand soldering, and cable harnessing on sub‑assemblies and units, following detailed schematics, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Systems Integration: Integrate sub‑assemblies into final hardware and perform final assembly of systems.
  • Electrical Testing: Conduct basic electrical tests to verify functionality and compliance with quality standards.
  • Rework & Refurbishment: Perform more complex rework and refurbishment of hardware and systems according to specifications.
  • Quality Control: Conduct manufacturing inspections in accordance with quality specifications and ensure compliance with safety and compliance standards.
  • Leadership & Training: Act as a technical lead for large‑scale projects, mentor junior assemblers, and train on new processes or technologies.
  • Collaboration: Work with engineering, quality, and project management teams to ensure designs meet business, quality, and timeline requirements.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate production logs, interpret technical documents, and ensure adherence to ISO and electrical industry standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Education: Technical degree in electrical or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Minimum 3–5+ years in electrical assembly, with 2+ years in a supervisory or senior role.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in using hand and power tools, soldering irons, crimpers, and electrical testing equipment.
  • Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving ability, communication skills, and ability to work independently and in teams.
