Job summary

Rochester Gas & Electric Corp seeks a Construction Manager to oversee field construction and commissioning of electric lines and substation projects in NY. You will coordinate multiple projects, manage safety, quality, schedules and budgets, and lead field teams to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

This role requires strong leadership, extensive utility construction knowledge, and the ability to navigate environmental and regulatory requirements. Travel to project sites is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of construction management practices for electrical utilities.
• Experience with commissioning of electrical equipment and substation construction.
• Strong leadership and decision-making in emergencies.
• Familiarity with OSHA, NESC, NEC regulations and industry codes.

Responsibilities

• Provide management for Field Construction Managers on electric line and substation projects.
• Determine contract resource requirements and manage contractor performance.
• Coordinate field inspections, sign-offs, and environmental considerations.
• Ensure all functional testing is completed for commissioning.
• Manage budgets, schedules, and cost-effective construction methods.
• Lead risk identification and mitigation throughout planning and execution.
