Job summary

City of College Station is seeking an Electric Safety and Training Coordinator to lead the development and delivery of an electric-specific safety and training program. The role includes coordinating CDL-related training and ensuring adherence to OSHA, NFPA 70E, and other standards.

The position requires an associate degree or Journeyman Lineman Certification with relevant experience, plus strong communication skills and the ability to work in diverse weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in safety or related field plus 3 years electric utility operations.
• Journeyman Lineman certification with 5+ years experience may substitute.
• Texas CDL Class A license or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Strong knowledge of electrical utility operations and safety regulations.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to exercise discretion.
• Ability to work in varied weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain electric safety and training program.
• Conduct safety training sessions on HazCom, fall protection, LOTO, first aid/CPR, etc.
• Coordinate CDL-related training with City CDL Program Specialist.
• Perform field safety audits and address compliance issues.
• Manage Electric PPE program per OSHA and NFPA 70E; inventory and maintenance.
• Collaborate with Facilities and HR to track safety equipment.
• Monitor DOT vehicle tracking and FMCSA compliance; arrange dielectric testing.
• Investigate workplace incidents with Risk Management; implement corrective actions.
• Benchmark industry best practices to maintain zero-incident culture.
• Pursue continuous improvement in electrical safety training.
