Job summary

The City of Maypearl electric department seeks an Electric Safety and Training Coordinator to oversee safety and training for crews, ensuring compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and industry best practices.

You will develop courses, manage PPE, conduct field audits, coordinate CDL training, and partner with Facilities and HR to maintain compliant equipment and training programs. Strong communication and safety mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Safety, or related field and 3 years’ electric utility operations experience.
• Journeyman Lineman Certification may substitute for degree and 5 years related experience.
• Texas Class A CDL or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Basic computer skills: Word/Excel/PowerPoint.
• Strong knowledge of electrical utility operations and safety regulations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and sustain electric safety and training programs for electric employees.
• Coordinate CDL-related training with the City’s CDL Program Specialist.
• Conduct field safety audits and recommend corrective actions.
• Manage PPE program according to OSHA and NFPA 70E standards.
• Collaborate with Facilities and HR on equipment safety compliance.
• Monitor DOT vehicle tracking and FMCSA compliance; oversee dielectric testing.
