Job summary

The State of New Hampshire is seeking an Electric Safety Administrator in Concord, NH, within the Department of Energy, Enforcement Division. The role focuses on senior management, analysis of operational reliability and safety for electric distribution, and participation in emergency plans and regulatory reviews.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, preparing reports and testimony, and coordinating with federal and state officials to improve safety and reliability of electric utilities.

Qualifications

• MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree and 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of 11 years of education and experience.
• Education and experience must be in chemical, civil, electrical, environmental, industrial or mechanical engineering, nuclear science & engineering or occupational safety and health.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Enforcement Division Director in the administration of the division.
• Supervises and trains staff in study, analysis, research and reporting of results on operational issues.
• Prepares detailed reports, studies and testimony used to formulate recommendations to the Department of Energy and the Public Utilities Commission on technical aspects in utility operations.
• Analyzes technical aspects of utility operations such as capacity, reliability, safety, and security including costs.
• Supports State Emergency Response Plan implementation as Emergency Support Function role within NIMS including drills.
• Represents the Department of Energy on the State Security Team for data classification and security methodologies; coordinates training.
• Investigates power outages, health and safety violations, customer complaints and other conditions; conducts inspections of electric utility workers.
• Maintains contact with officials of public utilities, consumers and public officials to inform policy and planning.
