Apex Technology, Inc. in Playa Vista, CA seeks a Senior Electric Propulsion Engineer to lead propulsion system architecture, integration, and testing for our satellite buses. You will develop TPMs, budgets, and acceptance tests, and guide cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electric propulsion, or aerospace-related engineering.
• 6+ years of electric propulsion design and test experience.
• Experience with handling and testing pressurized systems.
• Strong knowledge of propulsion, spacecraft systems, and SSCMAN 91-710 requirements.
• Ability to decompose supplier ICDs and communicate requirements to responsible engineering disciplines.
• Experience with CAD software (NX, SolidWorks).
• Working knowledge for manufacturing in a clean environment and following AS9100 protocols.

Responsibilities

• Design electric propulsion system architecture, develop product specifications, and maintain TPMs including power and mass budgets.
• Define placement and integration of an electric propulsion system architecture.
• Document and maintain detailed AI&T procedures for manufacturing operations.
• Establish engine degradation model, perform filtration analysis, and meet propulsion budgets.
• Design high pressure fluidic systems and instrumentation.
• Develop qualification and acceptance test plans including environmental testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate propulsion systems with other subsystems.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing anomalies and ensure DFM throughout development.
• Interface with customers/suppliers and provide on-site or virtual support.
• Decompose SSCMAN 91-710 into RVM, tailor requirements, and conduct PHAs.
• Conduct trade studies for propulsion components and manage suppliers.
• Contribute to proposals and business development.
