Job summary

Apex Technology, Inc. in Playa Vista, CA is seeking a Senior Propulsion Engineer with deep expertise in structures and hardware integration to design propulsion modules for serial production. You will own the mechanical design, interfaces, and packaging, working with thrusters, flow controllers, and PPUs from in-house teams.

You will collaborate with manufacturing to scale builds, perform structural analysis, and guide design-to-cost decisions to meet tight budgets and schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, or a closely related field.
• PhD or Masters with relevant experience acceptable for senior level; substantial experience with structural design and hardware installation/integration.

Responsibilities

• Own the mechanical design of propulsion modules and their integration into spacecraft structures.
• Define interfaces, mass, power, and thermal budgets for module integration.
• Collaborate with in-house thruster, flow controller, and PPU teams to optimize component and module design.
• Perform structural analysis including hand calculations and FEA; support testing and qualification.
• Guide design-for-manufacturing and design-for-assembly to enable scalable production.
• Mentor other mechanical and integration engineers on the team.
