Job summary

City of Lakeland Electric seeks a highly experienced Senior Engineer/Project Manager to lead complex design, operation, and construction tasks across major facility projects. You will direct cross‑functional teams, manage scope, and make critical technical decisions with independence and accountability.

The role requires guidance in planning, budgeting, and regulatory coordination, including liaison with agencies and industry groups.

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Engineering; four years of engineering experience in the listed specialty areas.
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering; six years of engineering experience in the listed specialty areas.
• NERC Reliability Standards knowledge and experience with regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare scope of work for projects including project management and QoE oversight.
• Lead cross‑departmental projects and supervise engineers/technicians.
• Oversee contract maintenance and repair projects and ensure schedules and budgets are met.
• Provide technical leadership in discussions with OEMs and contractors to ensure requirements are met.
• Develop cost estimates for equipment, materials, labor, and preliminary design work.
